Email marketing is one of the best and most effective ways to stay in touch with your contacts. Most agent’s lists will be comprised of contacts who are from warmer leads to those who may be a good source of referrals. That being said, having a campaign that is diverse enough to cater to the interests of the recipients is key while you don’t overwhelm anyone with too much info at the same time. Here are 5 key tips to keep in mind for your regular campaigns.
Subject lines
These should be on the shorter side in length but also speak to the message within your campaign. Picking something that is “juicy” or “catchy” can often pique interest and foster a higher open rate.
Limit self promotion
The majority of the campaign’s messaging should be educational and informative. It is all well and good to include some self promotion of course, but keep that to a minimum and only a small fraction of the overall message.
Imagery
Everyone loves pictures. Break up a wall of text with some interesting and quality imagery that offers your recipients some good “eye candy.” Pairing great photos with links can also help increase link click-throughs. Listings can have some great photos but for anything otherwise consider selecting some royalty free imagery.
Tone
Newsletters can be like blogging. Topics can be serious but that doesn’t mean that your tone needs to be as well. Try to let your personality show through your writing as after all, you are your business and this should resonate well with your audience.
Length
Newsletters will inherently be longer than a single eblast promoting a new listing or highlighting an event you are hosting. However, keep things in check so that you don’t overwhelm your recipients. A good tip is to adhere to a regular format and include section titles so that one can digest it very quickly.
